Alon’s professional career began in Georgetown, Ontario in a small Engineering firm specializing in custom, automated vacuum systems in 2005. A technical coordinator role has allowed him to learn valuable soft skills, which shaped Alon’s career for years to come. In addition, he has developed strong technical skills working under a Professional Engineer. This practical experience has led to a more senior role with SunOpta BioProcess Inc where, after years of spearheading large capital Engineering projects in Canada and abroad, Alon has obtained the Project Manager Professional (PMP) and Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designations in 2010.
Alon has worked for a well established water treatment firm, part of the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies, as a Project Engineer. In this capacity he has effectively led projects in a phase-gated environment delivering assembled and tested water treatment systems to major Engineering consulting firms and west coast clients in the mining industry.
Additionally, Alon has served in the Canadian Armed Forces (reserves) in the rank of Sergeant for 14 years. He has instructed on several leadership courses and obtained the Canadian Decoration (CD) medal for continuous service in good conduct.
Since 2014 Alon has been working as an independent contractor supporting clients in various industries, consistently delivering capital Engineering projects on time and within budget.
